27.0 GHz to 31.0 GHz 16-Channel Transmit/Receive Beamformer
The ATS29931 is a TRX beamforming RFIC with 27.0 GHz to 31.0 GHz frequency range, designed for application in mmWave and Ka-Band SATCOM planar phased array antennas. The IC is highly integrated and contains 16 independent transmit and receive channels. Each transmit and receive channel includes a vector modulator (VM) to control the phase, and a digital variable gain amplifier (DVGA) to control the amplitude. The VM provides 6 bits of resolution for phase control, and DVGA offers 5 bit of resolution for gain control. The ATS29931 can be programmed using a 3-wire or 4-wire serial port interface (SPI), the SPI protocol operates up to 100MHz with fast beam switching and fast beam-state loading.
